Noakhali/ While ‘overtaking’, one truck collided with another, killing two people including the driver

In Noakhali’s Senbagh, two people, including the driver, were killed after a truck was hit by another truck. Another passenger in the truck was seriously injured in the same incident. The accident took place on the Feni-Noakhali regional highway on the west side of Kalyandi Bazar in Mohammadpur Union of the upazila at around 5:30 am on Friday morning. All the dead were in a truck carrying crops.
The deceased persons are the truck driver Md. son of Abdur Rob of Nesharabad village of Swarupkathi upazila of Pirojpur. Al Amin (39) and Barisal Sadar upazila Kashipur village nursery business. Faisal Howladar (25). They died at Noakhali 250 bedded General Hospital while undergoing treatment at around 11 o’clock today.
According to police and local sources, a cement-laden truck was going from Noakhali to Feni in the early morning. At that time, a truck carrying nursery seedlings hit the back of the truck. The seedling truck lost control while overtaking. The front part of the truck was twisted.
While overtaking, the truck lost control and hit the truck in front. The front part of the truck hit by it was twisted. After the accident, the driver Al Amin and the passenger Faisal Howlader were trapped in the truck with serious injuries. Local people rescued them and sent them to Noakhali General Hospital. They died while undergoing treatment there. Another person injured in the same incident was sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment with first aid. He was also a passenger of the fodder truck.
When asked, local resident Moktar Hossain said that they got news of the accident on their way home after Fajr prayer. Later went to the spot and rescued the injured people trapped inside the truck and sent them to the hospital.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Laxmipur’s Chandraganj Highway Police Station Neel Chandra Das said that the rear truck may have hit the truck in front while overtaking. The front part of the truck hit by it was damaged. Further necessary action will be taken based on the complaint of the family of the deceased in this incident.
