New JMB’s ‘ideologically inspired’ former army man arrested

The police arrested an ex-serviceman in Baralekha of Moulvibazar on Thursday late night. The police said, Rahed Hossain Mahed, a former army member, is motivated by the ideology of the banned organization Naya JMB.

This information was informed in a press release of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Friday. According to the notification, the arrested Rahed Hossain is a dismissed army member. He is a suspect accused in a case of Sherbangla Nagar police station of DMP. A team of Counter Terrorism Investigation Department of DMP arrested him yesterday at around 2:30 AM in Islamnagar area of Shahjadpur Union of Baralekha Police Station of Moulvibazar.
