Motorcycle Training Accident Kills College Student in Chandpur

A 23-year-old college student was killed and his teenage niece critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Matlab Dakshin, Chandpur, on Tuesday afternoon. The collision occurred when the motorcycle, which the victim was using to teach his niece how to ride, struck a stationary truck on the road near the southern end of the Matlab Bridge.
The deceased, Fazle Rabbi, was a bachelor’s degree student at Matlab Government Degree College and the son of Mizanur Rahman from the Baishpur Bepari Bari area. His 15-year-old niece, Ishat, a tenth-grade student, sustained severe injuries in the incident. Ishat, who resides in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area, had been visiting her grandparents’ home in Matlab Dakshin with her mother to celebrate the Eid holidays.
Local ambulance driver Md. Josim, who witnessed the aftermath while passing the scene, immediately transported the pair to Chandpur Government General Hospital. Emergency department physician Enamul Haque confirmed that Fazle Rabbi had succumbed to his injuries before arriving at the facility.
Following initial stabilization, Ishat was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment due to the severity of her condition. Local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash as the community mourns the loss of the young student.
