Masdar Hossain’s lawyer license temporarily suspended

Md. The Bangladesh Bar Council has decided to temporarily suspend Masdar Hossain’s lawyer license and show cause.

A press release of the organization informed that this decision was taken unanimously at the Bar Council meeting on Wednesday.

The press release mentioned that the report of a daily on April 12 regarding the complaint against Masdar Hossain has come to the attention of the Bar Council.

Commenting on the press release, taking into consideration the question of professional ethics along with the prima facie truth of the complaint, the Bar Council meeting unanimously decided that there is prima facie material to take action against Masdar Hussain in this regard. So his charter was temporarily suspended. It has been decided to show cause within the next 15 days as to why his charter should not be canceled permanently. Until then, his license will be temporarily suspended.

Masdar Hossain is retired Senior District and Sessions Judge. In 1995 he was the General Secretary of BCS Justice Association. He and his fellow judges filed the case related to the separation of the judiciary from the executive. Which came to be known as ‘Masdar Hossain Case’.

Masdar Hossain returned to the legal profession after retirement. He was a member of the Judiciary Reform Commission formed during the previous interim government.
