Local community members identified the suspect as an active member of a group known as the “Shipon Bahini.” They have expressed concerns that additional illicit weapons may be circulating in the area, prompting calls for the administration to conduct a thorough investigation and recover further contraband.

Kushtia Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Kabir Hossain Matubbar stated that the recovered weapon appears to be of Pakistani origin. Following his medical assessment, Hossain was moved to the police station for interrogation. Authorities have initiated a case against him under the Arms Act, and he is expected to be transferred to jail through the court system.
