IERB launched at United Healthcare

United Healthcare Services Limited has crossed a milestone in healthcare research. The institute formally launched its first Institutional Ethical Review Board (IERB) last Tuesday.

The initiative aims to strengthen research activities among doctors, clinicians and health workers at United Healthcare’s flagship hospital, United Medical College Hospital.

Chairman and Managing Director of United Group Moinuddin Hasan Rashid inaugurated the program as the chief guest. United Healthcare Managing Director Nizamuddin Hasan Rashid and United Medical College Hospital Chairman AQM Mohsen were present as special guests. Mohammad Faizur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of United Healthcare expressed his thanks.

Azharul Islam Khan, Director of Medical Services of United Healthcare, has been appointed as the Chief Advisor to the IERB Committee. Khandkar Abu Talha will serve as chairman and Mahbubur Rahman as member secretary. The board also includes national and international experts from various medical and academic backgrounds.

Through the establishment of IERB, United Healthcare is committed to encourage innovative clinical research, strengthen academic collaboration and contribute to the improvement of healthcare in Bangladesh.
