Body of Missing Chandpur Businessman Found in Comilla Two Days After Disappearance

The body of 70-year-old fertilizer trader Nurul Islam was discovered in a paddy field in Comilla on Saturday, two days after he went missing from his home in Kachua, Chandpur. Police recovered the victim with his hands and feet bound, raising suspicions of a premeditated abduction and murder.

According to the Kachua police, Islam was last seen on the day of Eid at the Tulpai Central Eidgah. Following his disappearance, his family filed a general diary with local authorities. The discovery was made Saturday afternoon in a field located beside the highway in Srinibas Purba Para, falling under the jurisdiction of the Comilla Sadar South Police Station.

Family members and local residents have alleged that the trader was deliberately kidnapped and killed. Police officials have completed an initial inquest at the scene and transferred the body to the Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Kachua Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Aziz stated that law enforcement and intelligence units are actively investigating the case to determine if the crime was motivated by personal enmity or the involvement of a criminal syndicate. Preparations are currently underway by the victim’s family to file a formal murder case.
