BSF returns two Bangladeshis who infiltrated into India
BSF has returned two Bangladeshi nationals who were detained on charges of illegal infiltration at Nageshwari border in Kurigram. They were handed over through a BGB-BSF flag meeting at the zero line of the border on Monday night.
According to BGB, the two returned persons have been handed over to Kachakata police station. Their family members were also present at that time. The persons returned by BSF are Solaiman Sarkar (34), son of Abdul Gafur of Dumurdah village of Nageshwari upazila and Sohag Mia (23), son of Anwar Hossain of Kumartari village of Baldia union of Bhurungamari upazila.
Earlier on Sunday night, they entered Takimari area of Dhubri district of Assam state of India through North Jhaukuti border of Chauddaghari area of Narayanpur union of Nageshwari upazila. Later local people arrested them and handed them over to BSF.
The families of the detainees claimed that they had crossed the border due to bad weather. They informed the matter and contacted the 24-hour BOP. According to BGB sources, a flag meeting was held between the two forces yesterday afternoon after a letter was sent to the BSF informing about the matter. After the meeting, the BSF handed over the two detained Bangladeshis to the BGB.
Arpan Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Kachakata police station, said that the BGB has handed over two returned Bangladeshis to the police station. They will be handed over to their families after due legal process.
