Health Minister visits Khaleda Zia’s housekeeper Fatema’s niece at hospital

Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Sakhawat Hossain went to Dhaka Medical College (DHMC) Hospital on Friday evening to visit the sick niece of late Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s housekeeper Fatema Begum.

At this time, BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, Director General of Health Department Prabhat Chandra Biswas, Director of Dhamek Hospital Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman, Deputy Director Ashraful Alam and other officials were present.

Fatema’s niece Seema (32) gave birth at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal on Thursday. After this, the condition of mother and child became critical. The two were brought to Dhaka on Friday and the newborn was admitted to the Agargaon Children’s Institute and Hospital and the mother was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the surgery department of Dhamek Hospital.

According to hospital sources, the health minister spoke to the doctors and instructed to take necessary measures. Apart from this, the team visited one patient and another patient and inquired about their health. He then visited some units of the hospital.

While leaving after the visit, the health minister told reporters in front of the emergency department of DMK hospital in the evening, “The directors of each medical department have been told in advance to inform us if any patient is critical.” To ensure proper treatment by bringing it to Dhaka.
