DMTCCL hands over outsourced worker to police for legal action

Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has handed over an outsourced employee to the police for legal action following an incident involving the state-owned transit operator.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, DMTCL confirmed the detention of the staff member, who was working under the MRT Line-5 (Northern Route) project. While the company did not disclose the specific nature of the allegations or the misconduct involved, it confirmed that the individual was processed through law enforcement to ensure formal legal proceedings.

The MRT Line-5 project is a major component of Dhaka’s expanding mass transit infrastructure, currently under construction to alleviate the city’s chronic traffic congestion. DMTCL, the authority overseeing the construction and operation of the capital's metro rail network, stated that it remains committed to maintaining professional standards across its workforce and project sites.
