Child killed after tractor strikes motorcycle in Panchagarh

An eight-year-old girl was killed and her parents were injured after a tractor struck their motorcycle on the Panchagarh-Dhaka highway in Boda, Panchagarh, on Wednesday evening.
The victim, Khushi Rani, was traveling home to the Bandorpara area of Marea Bamonhat Union with her parents, Kukil Chandra and Surma Rani, following a social visit in the district town. According to local police, the family was positioned on the highway near the Boda Highway Police Station at approximately 7:30 p.m. when a speeding tractor rammed their motorcycle from behind.
The force of the collision threw all three passengers onto the road. The tractor’s wheel subsequently ran over the child, causing fatal injuries.
Boda Highway Police and local residents rushed the family to the Boda Upazila Health Complex. Medical personnel declared the girl dead upon arrival, while her parents remain hospitalized for treatment.
Officer-in-Charge of Boda Highway Police, Mamun Or Rashid, confirmed the incident, stating that the tractor driver fled the scene immediately after the crash, abandoning the vehicle. Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident as they search for the driver.
