The government has appointed senior journalist Syed Abdal Ahmed as the Chief Information Officer (PIO) of the Directorate of Information. He has been appointed on contract basis for one year in Grade-I rank.

The decision to appoint Syed Abdal Ahmed as the Chief Information Officer was announced in a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday. This appointment is given on the condition of severance of working relationship with any other profession, business or government, semi-government, private institution or organization.
