After being tortured in Libya, the youth is not found, the father-in-law and daughter-in-law are arrested in the case of human trafficking.
RAB arrested daughter-in-law and father-in-law in Madaripur human trafficking case. They were arrested from their home in Paschim Kakoir village of Shibchar upazila on Monday night.
The arrested persons are Tanya Begum and Salam Mollah. According to RAB, Tanya Begum is the wife of human trafficking gang member Sobahan Molla and Salam Molla is his father-in-law.
According to the statement of the case and local sources, Sobahan Molla and his associates promised to take Limon Matubbar (22), son of Ruhul Matubbar, a resident of Boalia village in Dudhkhali Union of Sadar Upazila, directly to Italy for 18 lakh taka. Limon left for Italy from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on September 11, 2025 after paying the full amount. But he was first taken to Saudi Arabia and later to Libya. There, he was kept in a prison and tortured.
Later, the gang collected another 12 lakh rupees from the family in the name of ransom through cash and bank. Since then, there is no trace of Limon.
In this incident, on April 7, the victim's aunt Munni Akhter filed a case under the Human Trafficking Act against Sobahan Molla, his father Salam Molla, his wife Tanya and eight others.
Later the members of RAB-8 Madaripur camp conducted a raid and arrested Tanya Begum and Salam Molla. After the legal process, they were handed over to Sadar Model Police Station on Tuesday morning. When brought to court later, the Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Mosa. Sabrina Tabassum ordered to send them to jail at noon.
Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad said that the two accused arrested in the case of human trafficking have been sent to court. Police operation to arrest other accused is continuing.
