A terrible fire broke out in Sunamganj market

Traders said that the fire at the hawk market in Sunamganj Sadar Upazila caused a loss of 5 to 7 crore rupees. The fire incident took place around 11:30 pm on Sunday.

It is reported that the fire started from a short circuit in a shoe store. The fire spread quickly as the store was stocked with shoes. Many shopkeepers came out but all the goods inside were burnt. The intensity of the fire was so high that the fire spread to about 8 to 10 shops around the market. The fire came under control after two hours with the combined efforts of fire service, police and BGB.

Sunamganj Sadar Police Station OC Ratan Sekh told the media that it is believed that the fire started from a short circuit. The fire service can tell the rest. The extent of the damage is not known.

Sunamganj Fire Service Station Officer Jalal Ahmed told the media that the fire is now under control.
