Late in giving tea, the father is accused of killing the child in the mother's lap in Chittagong
Her father has been accused of killing a two-month-old baby girl in Chattogram's Hathazari. The incident took place in Charia Ward No. 9 area of Mirzapur Union of the upazila at around 8 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday.
The name of the deceased child is Meher Akhtar. She is the daughter of Osman Gani of Ibrahim Member's house in that area. According to local residents, the child was in the arms of her mother Sumaiya Akhtar. At this time, Osman asked Sumaiya Akhtar to give him tea. However, Sumaiya Akhtar got into an argument with her husband Osman due to delay in serving tea. At one point, Osman took away the baby Meherar who was in Sumaiya's arms. The child died on the spot.
The officer-in-charge (OC) of Hathajari Model Police Station confirmed the truth of the incident. Zahidur Rahman. He told Prothom Alo that the child's body has been sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The child's uncle was also found to be involved in the murder. Both are absconding, operation is on to nab them. A murder case is pending in this incident.
