Natore police recovered a stolen laptop belonging to a German tourist on Sunday (October 20) night, ending a multi-day search operation that spanned multiple districts. The device, which had been reported missing alongside a camera, was discovered at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the Kafuriapatti area of Natore town.
The incident originated on Wednesday (October 16) afternoon at the Natore Railway Station. German national Krill Lander, who was visiting the country, had left his bag—containing his laptop and camera—with an individual posing as a railway official while he briefly departed to withdraw cash from an ATM. Upon his return, both the man and the bag had disappeared, prompting the tourist to file a general diary with the Natore Sadar Police Station.
Following the report, law enforcement launched a coordinated investigation involving multiple police units. Natore Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sharif Uddin confirmed that an intensive search effort was mounted to locate the missing belongings. As part of the operation, police teams conducted raids in the Lalmonirhat district as recently as Saturday (October 19) night in pursuit of leads.
The breakthrough occurred on Sunday evening when police officers visited a shop in the Kafuriapatti area. During questioning, a 20-year-old local resident named Antor Kumar Saha claimed that his father had found the device. Police subsequently recovered the laptop from the suspect's residence at 9:30 p.m. and brought the young man into custody for further interrogation.
Natore Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mansur Rahman confirmed that the recovered item was verified as the property of Krill Lander. Authorities have since contacted the German tourist via telephone to inform him of the successful recovery. The visitor expressed his relief and satisfaction upon learning that his equipment had been located.
