Father-son fight in Demra, father’s death due to stabbing

Dad was stabbed during the father-son fight in Demra of the capital. Israfil (45) was killed. He was a security guard by profession. His son (withheld as he is a teenager) is absconding after the incident.
The incident took place at a rented house in Demra North Bazar area around 5:30 am on Monday.
Inspector (Investigation) of Demra Police Station. Murad Hossain told Prothom Alo, quoting the family, that Israfil came home early in the morning and demanded money from his wife to get drunk. Then the son was sleeping in the next room. He comes up after hearing his parents arguing. After that, the father and son got into a fight at one point. At that time, the boy grabbed the knife from the father’s hand and hit the father’s chest. Israfil died in this.
On the other hand, Suriya Begum, the wife of the deceased, claimed that Israfil’s own knife hit him in the chest during the scuffle.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Demra police station Abdul Majeed said that Israfil’s body was recovered from the spot around 11 o’clock after receiving information in the morning. After the legal process, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
According to the police, no complaint has been received from the family yet. Israfil’s house is in Sutapara village of Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj. At present, he was living in a rented house with his family in North Bazar area of Demra.
