Local Youth Leader Killed in Three-Vehicle Collision in Mirsarai

A local leader of the Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal was killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Mirsharai, Chittagong, on Thursday afternoon, after his motorcycle was caught between a cement-laden truck and a service vehicle belonging to an internet provider.
The victim, 36-year-old Md. Salauddin, served as the joint convener of the Shaherkhali Union Juba Dal. The fatal accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the Masterpara area, along the access road leading to the National Special Economic Zone.
According to local reports and police sources, the force of the collision between the two heavy vehicles crushed the motorcycle, leaving Salauddin dead at the scene. Emergency responders and police arrived shortly after the incident to recover the body.
Officer-in-Charge of Mirsharai Police Station, Farida Yasmin, confirmed that the victim’s body has been transferred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Authorities have impounded the three vehicles involved in the crash. Both the truck driver and the driver of the internet service vehicle fled the scene immediately following the collision, and police are currently initiating legal proceedings as they continue to investigate the incident.
